A very good plus book very clean - no foxing, offsetting or writing with a faded topstain in a bright, unfaded very good plus jacket with mild sunning to part of the spine and light wear to the spine ends and corners. The jacket is first state - no "Book of the Month Club selection" notice at the bottom of the rear flap. The jacket designs features a wonderful wrap-around color illustration by the great George Salter. This copy includes a small 4 page folder that has the following at the top of the first page: "Because of the unfamiliarity of East European names, readers of The Wall may find this list occasionally useful for identification".
The characters, with their names and roles, are divided up to the following groups: 1 "The Family", 2 "Officers of the Judenrat", 3 "Leaders of Underground Groups", 4 "Leaders and Members of the Z. This helpful list seems to be quite scarce, I have never seen it mentioned before. The book is heavy pages - it may need extra postage for international or priority shipping.

Studies in Criticism and Aesthetics, 1660-1800
The designs of Margaret Armstrong , utilising the Art Nouveau style and floral patterns, were a sensation in the publishing business; Armstrong created over book designs, often for the works of well-known authors such as Charles Dickens, Robert Louis Stevenson, and George Washington Cable. In addition to designing books, Armstrong wrote books as well, including a comprehensive guide to wildflowers in the American West, which she also illustrated. This book by John Charles Van Dyke details aspects of nature such as the skies, forests, and rivers; it does not include animal life, as Van Dyke intended the work to examine nature in and of itself, without relation to human beings.
This volume is the fourth edition, and features an elegant design echoing the shapes of flowers, by Margaret Armstrong. Please contact us with any questions you may have, we are here to help. Full publisher's plum pebbled morocco gift binding, gilt extra, a. Text rather foxed, with offset from long ago laid in floral specimen, and a few ink spatters in the terminal catalogue; the binding, apart from some minimal rubbing at the edges and a bit sunning to the spine, is very good or better. Denoted the 12th edition. The binding is unsigned, but is highly characteristic of New York gift bindings of the period.
